Pure Place Organic Pea Protein Review and Recipe
I have another special product to share with everyone today. You all know that I love to support Australian brands and products. I was so happy to have this wonderful company “Pure Place” reach out to me and ask me to review their all natural organic pea protein powder and I could not be happier to support a wonderful Australian business run by some very nice people.
If you are like me, a good plant based protein powder can be difficult to find. The majority of protein powders are whey based and even a lot of the plant based proteins are artificial, loaded with fillers and additives and often don’t taste the best. Whey protein has the added benefit of having a smoother creamier texture. Once you try a plant based protein the main thing people will complain about is the gritty texture. More than this, personally I have found that many protein powders can leave me feeling bloated and a little nauseous. The trick is getting a good quality plant based protein with few ingredients and no artificial additives, which is why I love this brand. So let’s get started with the review:
What is it? Pure Place in an Australian based company that makes all natural, organic plant based pea protein powder. It uses organic peas, no artificial additives or fillers. It is free from dairy, gluten, GMO products and refined sugar. It uses stevia as a natural sweetener and has 22g of protein per serve.
Benefits: If you have an active lifestyle, love to exercise often and hit the gym protein powder is a great way to supplement additional protein needs in your diet. It can help with muscle recovery, injury recovery, muscle strengthening as well as make you feel fuller for longer and starve off sugar cravings. Although it is easy to get adequate protein intake on a plant based diet, many vegans and vegetarians feel better when supplementing with some added protein especially if they have an active lifestyle. A good protein powder can help increase your protein intake and give you the protein requirements that you need.
Taste: The taste is my favourite part of this product. Most protein powders that I have come across come in the same three flavours, vanilla, chocolate and natural. The best thing about pure place pea protein powder is that it comes in three unique and different flavours that taste delicious. The flavours are: vanilla cinnamon, honeycomb cacao, and cacao and coconut. If you are a strict vegan, you may need to avoid the honeycomb flavour but if not all three are delicious with a great smooth texture. The honeycomb protein powder literally tastes like a violet crumble chocolate bar but my favourite is the cacao coconut which reminds me of a bounty bar.
Price: The price is $59.95. This is a pretty standard price for most protein powders that I have come across. This gets you a rather large 1kg bag that will last a long time. If you buy 2 bags you get $10 off and 3 bags you get $25 off. Every extra bag after the third costs $44.95. You also get 100% money back guarantee and free shipping Australia wide. You can also get an extra $5 off your first purchase when you use the code HAZEL&CACAO (Australian residents only)
How to use it: Protein powder can be used in all sorts of different ways. If you are just wanting a quick workout drink you can mix a scoop with some water or milk of choice. You can add it to smoothies with fruit and other goodies to create a nutritious breakfast, meal replacement or workout drink, you can also add it in desserts and make protein bars, protein pancakes, bliss balls, cookies and other baked goods. I am adding a quick smoothie bowl recipe down below of one of my favourite ways to use protein powder.
Cons: There are very few cons that I can think of with this product. It is one of the most natural protein powders that I have come across and the flavours really are delicious. The only thing that I can think of is that some people are a little sensitive to stevia which is the sweetener used in the product. Although most people can handle stevia without any problems if you have a sensitive digestive system it may cause some mild digestive upset. Many people also complain of a bitter stevia aftertaste. Personally I think the protein powders mask this really well. I usually can pick up on the aftertaste but I was not able to with these products, but just in case I thought I would give it a mention.
Where to Buy: You can buy the products direct from their website https://pure.place/
